Accommodations

Depending on public-health guidelines related to COVID-19, plans for a residential offering of the Institute are subject to change.

Portland State University offers accommodations for Institute participants in Broadway Hall (street view). Units in the building, which can be shared, cost $72 per night (30 nights x $72 = $2,160) and are furnished with 2 beds (XL twin), desks, chairs, and dressers. Units are not air-conditioned, though guests will have access to air-conditioned common spaces. Bathrooms and kitchens are private in all units (video tour). Kitchen equipment is not provided.

Guests receive a pillow, blanket, sheet set and a fan. Linens are replaced twice weekly. Washers and dryers are located on every second floor. Broadway Hall is ADA accessible and ADA units are available. Guests have free access to the Campus Rec Center for fitness equipment, aquatic recreation, intramural sports, and more.

Meal Options:
The standard weekly meal plan provides 14 meals at a cost of $145 (4 wks x $145 = $580). Meals are provided by Victor's Dining Hall, located near Broadway Hall in the Ondine Residence Hall Annex. Meals can also be purchased there for a few days, a day, or one at a time. For those who choose the plan, Summer Housing will provide further information upon check in at Broadway Hall.

Alternative food outlets of all kinds are readily available throughout the campus district (pop-up map).

Parking:

Late Check-ins:
After reserving a room, guests may email Summer Housing their expected arrival time. Then, on the night of arrival, they are to call 971-246-1598 and one of the staff will help get them checked in.
